What Is Coachella?

Super-cool celebrities and California; the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has taken place in the Colorado Desert in America since the 90s. It features a wide variety of musical artists, art installations and sculptures. Any gender identity or expression, sex, sexual orientation, race, religion, age or ability are all welcome at Coachella.

Coachella is one of the largest, most famous, and most profitable music festivals in the USA, and the world. This year, the 20th anniversary, Will take place over two separate weekends in April; 12th - 14th and 19th - 21st. Headlining acts include Childish Gambino, Tame Impala, and Ariana Grande.

Environmentally Friendly, Sustainable Festival

What we love about Coachella, apart from the obvious, is the fact they’re committed to efforts that contribute to the betterment of the Coachella Valley.

In addition to partnering with Global Inheritance, they’ve launched several initiatives to help minimise their impact on the environment; including encouraging the use of reusable bottles, ‘Carpoolchella’, the ‘Energy Playground’ where you can recharge your phone by getting on a seesaw, and a ‘Recycling Store’!

Staff are required to collect the litter that builds up during the festival; with resources being sorted on site and then taken to local recycling centres.
